ProcEnergy is developing a modular, flow-through ultrasound platform for industrial liquids and slurries where energy use, residence time, separability or downstream performance affect process economics.
What we do
The platform combines flow-through reactor modules, instrumentation and software control so ultrasonic operating strategies can be tuned to feedstock properties and process state.
It is designed for insertion into selected unit operations, upstream of extraction, separation, conversion or other downstream steps.

Software-controlled operating strategies allow the platform to respond to changing feedstock properties, process state and trial objectives.
Trials combine measured energy use, treated and untreated comparisons, and assessment of downstream impact with industrial operators.
Initial focus
The first target applications are biomass pretreatment and slurry handling, where feedstock variability, solids loading and difficult separations can limit performance and economics.
Trials are designed with industrial operators to measure the effect of adaptive ultrasound on the relevant downstream step for each application.
BioCORE is a Horizon Europe project developing integrated routes for food and agricultural residues. ProcEnergy’s role focuses on ultrasound pretreatment and early process-development work for biomass-derived liquid and solid streams.
